The Investiture Ceremony is a prestigious event in every school’s calendar wherein the school formally entrusts responsibilities on the ‘young leaders’ to discharge their duties honestly, sincerely and to the best of their ability.
Leaders are not born but are made by their experiences in life”. To inculcate the leadership qualities in students and to give them a feel of functioning of the administrative body, Delhi City school formed its school’s first student council and held investiture ceremony for the academic year 2018-19 on July 6, 2018.
Chairperson, Mrs. Swati Mittal and Mr Shashank Garg member of the school management committee welcomed the Chief Guest Mr. Avdhesh Jha, Principal of Govt Coedu. Senior Sec school sec 8 Rohini, with the bouquet of flowers.The ceremony began with the lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest Mr. Avdhesh Jha, Mrs. Swati Mittal and Mr Shashank Garg .
The Choir had a melodious and inspiring song which perfectly suited the event. The song told the students how to overcome their challenges and never give up whatever the situation may be.
Students dressed in resplendent house colours, marching to the beat of the drums, added to the grandeur of the event. The chairperson, Mrs Swati mittal inspired and encouraged the elected leaders to be dutiful and responsible in his address to the gathering.
The chief guest commended the efforts of the chairperson Mrs. Swati Mittal, staff and students and encouraged them to achieve the ultimate and do their best in all their future endeavours.
All the newly-elected cabinet/ student council members, Head Boy Mritunjay and Head Girl Shreya along with all the House Captains and Vice-Captains for the academic session 2018-2019 took pledge to devote the best of their ability, knowledge, power, duty and discipline in accordance to the vision and mission of their alma mater.
The ceremony concluded with the national anthem. It was a memorial day for Delhi City School.
